Student Poetry This Project WR245 More Home		High Drama (A pantoum) Rose Lefebvre Why do you constantly lie to those who love you? We gaze into your eyes and want very much to believe your excuses. Do you to care what you put us through as your lips only speak words meant to deceive? We gaze into your eyes and yearning to believe but our trust has been shattered, doubts have grown when you give excuses and tell lies meant to deceive. Such a lack of care and love you have shown causing our trust to be shattered. Our doubts have grown and we wonder if you think getting high is worth all the pain you have caused by the lack of care and love you have shown. you have everything to lose- family and home- and nothing to gain as you choose getting high. Is it really worth all the pain you cause to those of us who love you? We weep in despair knowing you have everything to lose and nothing to gain. Each day we wonder if you feel any guilt or even care about the people who truly love you and weep in despair. You are such fool for not weighing the cost of your behavior. Do you feel any guilt or even care about your words and actions and what you have lost? You are such an ignorant fool for not weighing the cost and realizing all the heartache you have put us through with your cruel words and hurtful actions. You have lost so much by the cruelty and lies told to those who love you. Rose Lefebvre has been writing poetry for over 37 years, only sharing it in the past 3 years. She won the top poetry prize, Best of Show, at the Oregon State Fair in 2003 and 2nd place in 2004. She has also written articles for a small city newspaper.
