RoseLefebvre Today I watched a spider as his web he spun, beginning his creation with just a thread of one. He moved around so carefully adding here and there. He worked with such tenacity, creating with such care. When his work was finished and his web hung in the air, I studied his sturdy creation, yet so delicate and fair. The many threads so fragile, woven together made it strong, so it would capture and hold tight to prey that came along. Suddenly within that web of threads so fine and fair, I saw the strength of family and the bonds they share. Just like the web each of us is a thread not strong alone. We all affect each other, our lives never all our own. If a single thread is broken it affects them all. One by one they lose their strength and soon begin to fall. But when they stand united they can overcome what may. They can survive and carry on through each passing day. My life touches yours, as yours touches upon mine. Whatever affects you, affects me in kind. To take it one step further, our lives touch on so much more; what we do affects our world, we are at its very core. So we must weave as carefully as this simple spider taught, or the lesson that he’s shown us will have been for naught. Each of us must take care as through this life we go. For our lives affect each other and this world in which we grow. Copyright © Rose Lefebvre. All rights reserved.
