Contemplating My Life Adrianne Brockman I like to think about what gives meaning to my life; I ask about possessions and friends. What creates sunshine, warms my heart, brings me joy, and nourishes my soul? I ask, what is my soul? I think it is the seat of my convictions about life. I want my convictions to bring to others, joy, to nourish my friends, to enrich their hearts, and to bring to the world, goodness and sunshine. I have met rays of sunshine, and I ask, do the rays come from their soul. I feel heart felt appreciation for the rays do enrich my life. Those who emit rays of sunshine are my treasured friends, and I want to be like them, radiating joy. Life has taught me lessons about joy. My possessions do not radiate sunshine, open avenues to friends, or instill kindness in my soul. I may acquire possessions all of my life, but at death, friends will remember my heart. Friends are the heart and soul of my joy and the sunshine in my life. I know that nourishing my friends will bring me joy. From them, my heart will radiate sunshine, my soul will be fulfilled, and I will have a rich life. Adrianne Brockman is a retired land use planner and attorney with an avid interest in traditional B&W photography and a new found interest in poetry. She hopes to combine her photogaphy and poetry.
